The Habitat

The Center is situated at the end of the promontory, your stay at the PMBC, as a result, will be in a private atmosphere. Guest scientists can have access to nearby provinces or some of the adjacent islands for their collecting purposes.

The Climate

Phuket Island is subjected to two main monsoon seasons, which govern the weather condition of the island. The Northeast monsoon brings sunny and dry weather with calm seas and winds to Phuket from November to May. The Southwest monsoon, from May to October brings heavy rain and thunderstorms to change the face of the island into a real Tropical Rain Forest Island. The year round temperatures vary from 21 to 35 degree

Important notices

  • It is advisable to bring in any necessary equipment and supplies as accompanied luggage unless one is prepared to pay import duties. PMBC will not be responsible for exempting import duty, as it is very time consuming and complicated.
  • Phuket Marine Biological Center reserves the right to publish the results of your research project, which has been conducted at the Center in the Phuket Marine Biological Research Bulletin.
